Charlie Nicholas is a fan of Ryan Kent and claims he has raised his transfer value considerably since signing for Rangers.

The former Arsenal striker also likened Steven Gerrard to Brendan Rodgers in the way he has improved his players – including Kent.

Kent joined Gers on a permanent deal for £7.5million [Sky Sports] in 2019, and Nicholas suggested only last year that Rangers should accept nothing less than £20m if they were to sell him [Express].

He told Paddy Power, “Ryan Kent was a big buy, but he has doubled his value at least since his time at Rangers.

“Gerrard now has saleable assets and has made every player better, very much like Brendan Rodgers did when he went to Celtic.”

Getting better and better

Kent has been superb at times this season and we agree with Nicholas’ view of his transfer value.

That’s because the £20,000 a week [TEAMtalk] star has proved his quality in the Europa Legaue as well as the Scottish Premiership.

And if Premier League clubs are to come calling we may as well bleed them for all they have.

After all, Kent is likely happy at Ibrox and has the opportunity to play Champions League football next season – he is unlikely to get that if he moves as we do not think a top four side will buy him.

The likes of Joe Aribo and Glen Kamara are in a similar position.

They were brought in for much less than Kent but both have proved to be vital to our success.

We have little doubt they are gaining attention and like Kent their transfer values have shot up.

Credit must go to Gerrard for what he has achieved and hopefully he can continue working his magic to develop hidden gems into highly sought-after talent.

In other Rangers news, a 2020 summer signing has hinted at getting a new contract soon.
