Confirmed Rangers line ups v Slavia Prague ahead of huge Europa League clash
Steven Gerrard has named the Rangers side that will take on Slavia Prague in the first leg of tonight’s Europa League last 16 clash.
Kemar Roofe is on the bench following his recovery from his most recent injury knock with Gerrard seemingly unwilling to risk the attacker from the start.
The lineup was announced on Twitter ahead of the game as Gers fans wondered who would line up on what has the potential to be a huge night for the club.
Allan McGregor continues in goal while a backline of Nathan Patterson, Connor Goldson, Filip Helander and Borna Barisic covers him.
The midfield is made up of Glen Kamara, Joe Aribo and Steven Davis with Ianis Hagi, Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos leading the line.
This is about as strong a team as Gerrard could’ve named tonight and he’ll be hoping his players aren’t suffering from a hangover after this week’s title celebrations.
Tonight is massive.
If we can pick up an away goal or two then we will be in a great position to progress and once you’re in the last eight, anything can happen.
Let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves though, the players have to concentrate on the task at hand and Slavia are a good side.
They’re top of their league and unbeaten, just like us, which means they’ll be no pushovers.
We do have the capacity to blow anyone away but the main task tonight is not being as sloppy at the back as we were away to Antwerp.
If we can keep a tight backline we have every chance of snatching a win.
In other Rangers news, the club must see through BBC Scotland’s latest statement.
