John Swinney takes aim at Rangers gathering after title 55 celebrations at Ibrox

John Swinney has taken aim at Rangers for their “deafening” response to the title celebrations outside Ibrox on Sunday afternoon.

The Bears clinched title number 55 after Celtic crumbled yet again and could only manage a 0-0 draw against Dundee at Tannadice on yet another shocking afternoon for them.

Nicola Sturgeon has also slammed the club over the weekend, with 28 Rangers fans being arrested during the celebrations.

Deputy First Minister, Swinney has spoken to the public again on Monday and has carried on the complaints from Sturgeon.

BBC journalist Chris McLaughlin has shared parts of his statement on his personal Twitter account, claiming the celebrations were an “absolute disgrace.”

‘Deputy First Minister John Swinney says behaviour of some Rangers fans yesterday was ‘an absolute disgrace’ and ‘shameful.’ Also says the silence from the club ‘was deafening.’

This is yet another example of the Bears being singled out.

Where was Swinney when Celtic fans were protesting outside of Parkhead? When everyone around the country was celebrating reaching EURO 2021?

It appears to be one rule for some, and entirely different for everyone at Ibrox, and it continues to get worst as time goes on.

Steven Gerrard summarised it perfectly, the club couldn’t do anything to stop them, and it was down to the security firms and the police to sort that out.

The Bears have also released a statement claiming they have been in contact with the authorities in recent weeks, so part of this blame is on their shoulders too.

This would have been impossible to stop, it isn’t time to start pointing fingers.
