Trevor Sinclair claims Celtic lost the title, Rangers did little

Self-confessed Celtic-fan Trevor Sinclair has delivered a terrible take on Rangers while discussing the exit of Neil Lennon from Celtic.

Lennon left the job on Wednesday morning before Rangers could clinch the title, possibly at the next Old Firm game.

It was only a matter of time after a season of total dominance from Rangers.

However, Sinclair was quick to play down this achievement.

Talking on the White & Jordan Show (talkSPORT, Wednesday, 10am) Sinclair said, “I think it epitomises the club and what’s been going on there this season, the fact that it was released by the Sun and not by official sources.

“The 10-in-a-row was a huge thing that the club wanted to achieve but actions and what they’re saying are two very different things.

“Recruitment hasn’t been good enough. Obviously a lot of that is going to fall on Neil Lennon’s head. But for me, the board hasn’t recruited well enough.

“I said before Steven Gerrard didn’t want to be the manager of Rangers when Celtic do 10-in-a-row.

“So you have to credit what he’s done but, let’s get it right, he’s not had to do an awful lot.

“The way Celtic have been underperforming has been very, very disappointing from the fans’ perspective.”

Rangers

Terrible take

No, let’s get this right, Trevor.

What Rangers have achieved this season has played into the Celtic downfall, not the other way round.

There’s been an awful arrogance from Celtic that has finally been exposed, but that takes away nothing from Rangers’ achievements.

Unbeaten in Europe and odds-on for a place in the Round of 16. That’s got nothing to do with Lennon or Celtic and we’re not going to have our season reduced to picking up the scraps left by a sorry Lennon outfit.

That’s one of the worst takes ever on a side that’s set to break the 100 point barrier in the Premiership.

Yes, Celtic have been awful, but Rangers would have won the Premiership irrespective.

This isn’t a Rangers side that has got lucky, this is the strongest and most together squad in Scotland for a very long time.

Jim White really should have picked him up on this.
