Rangers defender Filip Helander has showered praise on his partner Conor Goldson for his form in the Scottish Premiership.
The Swede was named alongside Goldson once again in the big win over Dundee United today, where they failed late on to keep another clean-sheet.
Goldson has been ever-present under Steven Gerrard, and with James Tavernier currently injured, so will Helander in the next month.
Speaking with Rangers TV, Helander was full of praise for his defensive partner and the work he has put in this season during this run.
“First of all, he’s a good player,” he said.
“He’s been one of our most consistent players this year, and he’s a leader on the pitch. he plays with confidence.”
Goldson has been phenomenal this season.
The 28-year-old has been used by Steven Gerrard in all competitions and hasn’t been rotated by the Bears, as his importance continues to grow.
The Gers have only conceded nine goals and have an incredible goal difference of 64 in this unbeaten run, something that Goldson has played a huge part in.
No one has made more clearances per game in the entire squad according to WhoScored, as he continues to stand up and be counted at vital moments in games.
Not only is he clearly one of the first names on the team sheet, but he clearly has the respect of those around him, as they continue to shower him in praise.
Helander was criticised despite the big win today, and he must start looking to replicate the performances of his teammate, and fast.
