Rangers fans have reacted after getting some shock injury news ahead of Thursday’s Europa League clash against Antwerp.

It’s not come from an official source yet, so there’s still hope that it’s not true and the matter should be put straight in the press conference later today.

However, the Daily Mail (via Glasgow Live) has reported that James Tavernier is a doubt for the game after picking up a knock in training.

The report goes on to claim that if he is ruled out, Ryan Jack will be shifted back to play at right-back.

We don’t need to say just how brilliant Tav has been this season – 17 goals and 15 assists are scarcely believable.

What makes this potentially worse is that Nathan Patterson could have been in line for a start but he’s one of the players named in the current Covid breach scandal.

Jack has been used in midfield this season but is more than capable of dropping back to the right-back position.

However, he’s no Tav and while we’re still heavy favourites to progress, losing our prolific right-back would be a major blow.

We hope that Gerrard has some good news for us later and it does seem odd that this has come out of the blue just as our other right-back is embroiled in a big news story.

Hopefully, there’s nothing in.

In the meantime, here are the reactions from Rangers fans…
