Ibrox View: Gerrard to axe £3m ace in two big changes – Predicted Rangers starting XI v Celtic

It’s the big one next but this time all the power is with Rangers.

A win at Ibrox against Celtic will give us an almost unassailable 19-point lead at the top of the Premiership and you’re going to be hard-pressed to find a pundit who will back an away win.

The bookies think it’s likely to be a home win, with Rangers at evens to get the three points. Celtic are 5/2 for the win and the draw is 9/4.

Scott Arfield and Ryan Jack will be missing and you would normally fear for Rangers after losing two critical midfield players.

However, the squad is strong this season and Steven Gerrard had the luxury of resting Ryan Kent and Leon Balogun ahead of the game on Saturday.

We think both players will come back into the starting XI, and while Filip Helander could get another start after a fine display v St Mirren, we think Balogun will get the nod because of his pace.

The Rangers attack will be intimidating for Celtic, with Ryan Kent and Kemar Roofe on form and Alfredo Morelos finally breaking his Premiership barren streak.

It’s time for his first goal against Celtic and it means Ianis Hagi – signed for £3m this summer – dropping to the bench.

Joe Aribo has to start after running the match against St Mirren and we think he’ll be joined by Glen Kamara and Steven Davis in midfield.

This is the side that we’re confident will get the three points on Saturday…
