English trio queue up to sign Rangers talent in Jan loan deal – report
Exciting Rangers youngster Josh McPake is reportedly a man in demand ahead of the January transfer window.
According to the Daily Record, Harrogate Town, Salford City and Forest Green Rovers are all looking to sign the player on loan.
McPake has been on loan at Championship side Morton but is due to return to Ibrox before heading out again during the second half of the campaign.
The Daily Record claim that the youngster will head to England as he continues to seek first-team football.
McPake is clearly highly rated by Gerrard, with the Gers boss handing him his senior debut at the age of just 17.
Promotion potential for McPake
The report plays down the chances of a move to Salford City, but a deal to join either them or Forest Green Rovers would represent a great opportunity for McPake to fight for promotion.
The latter currently second in League Two and are looking to push themselves into the third tier of English football.
Meanwhile, Salford and their wealthy backers have made no secret about their desire to be playing at a higher level.
On the other hand, Harrogate usually line up in a traditional 4-4-2 and put a huge emphasis on deliveries into the box from wide areas.
Forest Green also predominantly use a variation of 3-5-2 and like Harrogate, place a big emphasis on attacking with width, so McPake could feel quite at home should he join either of the two sides in January.
