‘Embarrassing’, ‘Horrendous’ – Many Rangers fans destroy ‘Waster’ in 3-0 win v St J’stone
Rangers made it a perfect Christmas period on Wednesday evening, sweeping aside St Johnstone 3-0 at McDiarmid Park.
Steven Gerrard made two changes to his side, bringing in Ianis Hagi and Joe Aribo from the side that beat Motherwell over the weekend.
Alfredo Morelos completed his two-match ban in that game and returned only for a spot on the bench on Wednesday.
The Colombian came on with half-an-hour to go, and the game was basically over.
Gerrard will have been praying that the 24-year-old could have found the net, mainly to boost his confidence in the final third massively.
The perfect chance fell to the South American in the final five minutes, but he somehow managed to miss the target when it looked easier to score.
Morelos has only scored three times this season so far, and this was the perfect opportunity to end that drought.
The striker was seen walking straight down the tunnel at full-time, and that is a clear indicator that his frustration is growing with his current form.
Many Rangers fans have slammed Morelos for his cameo against St. Johnstone, with some even labelling him as “embarrassing” for his missed chance.
Some also felt sorry for the striker though, claiming that one goal will start a run of scoring that could see him hit top form for the Old Firm in less than two weeks’ time.
