Rangers returned to their best against St. Johnstone on Wednesday evening at McDiarmid Park.

The Bears were two goals to the good at half-time, and Ianis Hagi finished off the job in the second half with a sharp finish on the rebound.

Steven Gerrard brought the Romanian back into his starting XI with Joe Aribo, and both proved their gaffer right with shining displays.

Hagi has come in for some criticism this season.

After a cracking start to the campaign after making his move permanent, the playmaker hit a quiet spot and many expected much more.

It was only Hagi’s second goal of the season, and Gerrard will have been demanding more of an impact in the final third upon his return.

According to WyScout, the 22-year-old has only hit 22.2% of his shots on target during this campaign, and that finally improved on Wednesday.

Hopefully, this will kickstart Hagi this season, and we can finally bring back the playmaker of old – something that would certainly keep the title well and truly in the Bears’ hands.

Many Rangers fans reacted to the performance of Hagi on Wednesday evening, and they were blown away by his impact in midfield.

The majority were delighted that he broke his quiet spell in front of goal, claiming that his latest strike will give him bucketloads of confidence.
