‘Top trolling’, ‘Love to see it’: Some Gers fans loving brutal on-air Celtic dig from Sky pundit
Former Rangers star and Sky Sports pundit Kris Boyd went viral on Thursday with a brilliant on-air dig at Celtic.
Speaking during Sky Sports News’ coverage on Wednesday night, with the footage caught on camera by Twitter user @stuart723, Boyd was summarising Rangers’ 2-0 win away to Lech Poznan in the Europa League and could not stop himself from poking fun at Celtic.
As Boyd gave his thoughts on the game, he reeled off a number of impressive facts and figures about Rangers’ performance on the night and their form this season to highlight what a great job Steven Gerrard is doing.
With the club in such good form, Boyd could not help himself but send a cheeky dig in the direction of the club’s Glasgow rivals as he finished his report, saying: “I’m going to pass you over to Andy Walker who can take you through the Celtic game, who have, by the way, made more statements than they’ve had victories in the past two months.”
Boyd could barely contain his smile on what was a momentous night for Rangers, as they booked a place in Monday’s knockout stage draw as a seeded team.
Both the clip and the reaction of these supporters speaks volumes of the feel-good factor that currently surrounds the club.
With Celtic crashing out of the group stages and trailing the Gers by 13 points in the Premiership, it is certainly not a bad time to support Rangers.
These Rangers fans on social media could not help but join in the fun, sharing their reactions to the clip.
Here are some of the best responses.
