‘Too good for us’, ‘Sensational footballer’ – These Rangers fans in awe of one player v Benfica

Plenty of Rangers fans have hailed Kemar Roofe for his display in the Europa League against Benfica at Ibrox on Thursday night.

The former Leeds United man scored his side’s second goal in a 2-2 draw, letting fly from just outside the area into the top of the net.

The 27-year-old has scored four goals in his last four appearances in all competitions (via WhoScored) and looks to have fully established himself as a starter under Steven Gerrard.

Arriving from Anderlecht over the summer, he was left out initially and has only started five times in the Scottish Premiership, but his recent form looks to have made him undroppable.

On Thursday he was outstanding once again, taking two shots, completing one dribble and winning one tackle and three aerial duels, in addition to scoring a world class goal (via WhoScored).

While neither Roofe nor Alfredo Morelos are natural wide men, they have started to dovetail beautifully, with both players comfortable picking the ball up out wide in through the middle.

Morelos was also excellent against the Portuguese side and a number of fans were quick to talk about the understanding the Colombian has built up with Roofe in recent weeks.

Others highlighted that Roofe was so good that he could soon be on the move away from Ibrox such were the quality of his performances.

Here are some of the best reactions to his performance from Rangers fans on Twitter.
