Report – Hibernian have not given up on signing Rangers midfielder McCrorie

Rangers midfielder Ross McCrorie’s proposed move to Hibernian could be back on, according to the Scottish Sun.

The national outlet reported earlier in the week that Jack Ross’ men had fallen short of the Gers’ valuation of the player with an offer of £200,000.

With that, it did look as if any potential deal was dead in the water, but just days later, it appears there is still a chance that it could be reanimated.

According to this latest report, Hibs are willing to go back to the Gers with an improved bid in an effort to land the young talent, who spent last season on loan at Portsmouth.

It is understood that Ross is “desperate” for the deal to go ahead, while McCrorie is also keen after being tempted by the lure of regular first team football.

Will McCrorie join Hibs this summer?

This is a story that is refusing to budge.

After Steven Gerrard made it clear that he is open to letting McCrorie leave this summer, it would seem that all three parties are keen for some kind of deal to happen.

That being said, don’t expect Rangers to offload the midfielder on the cheap.

After all, there doesn’t appear to be any pressure to sell on their part, and with reported interest from Swiss side St. Gallen, there’s no reason why they should have to settle for a cut-price fee when they could engineer a bidding war if they’re smart.

Hibs still feels like the most likely destination, especially with this new bid, but nothing is written in stone.
