Report – Multiple clubs keeping tabs on Rangers talent Kamara, £10m fee touted

A number of Premier League clubs are interested in making a move for Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara this summer, according to 90min

Sheffield United, Crystal Palace, Everton, Newcastle United and Southampton are all understood to have expressed an interest in the Finland international, as well as Championship duo Norwich City and Brentford.

The report also suggests that the 24-year-old is attracting interest from Eastern Europe, with Dynamo Kiev and Dynamo Moscow both keeping tabs on him.

Kamara has been a central figure in Steven Gerrard’s first XI so far this season, starting all three of the Gers’ Scottish Premiership matches.

In particular, it is understood that the two Eastern European sides are willing to pay up to £10 million for the player this summer.

For their part, Rangers don’t want to lose the midfielder, but the report suggests that they are in no position to turn down a substantial offer for his services.

What should we make of this?

Assuming that there is some substance to this report, it would be incredibly difficult for Rangers to turn their nose up at an offer of £10 million.

Let’s not forget, Kamara only cost them £50,000 last January, and that amount of profit would be a huge boost for the club, especially during a spell that has made things difficult for clubs everywhere.

Alex Bruce told Ibrox News back in May that he believed a fee of just under £9 million for Kamara would represent a good deal, so the prospect of securing an eight-figure fee would definitely be a boost.

Gerrard has previously stated that landing Kamara in the first place was a “major bonus”, and while losing him would be a blow, the money that he could fetch would be a welcome addition for the Gers.
