‘Sure he’ll improve’ – Ibrox Exclusive: Pundit backs Rangers ace Kent to become more clinical

We’re delighted to welcome former Scottish Premiership defender Alex Bruce as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Rangers…

Alex Bruce has claimed that he is sure Rangers winger Ryan Kent will continue to improve in front of goal as he gets older.

Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, the former Kilmarnock defender suggested that the former Liverpool wide man is already a key player for the Gers, but could do with improving his efficiency in front of goal.

Kent was on hand to score the winning goal in his side’s opening day victory over Aberdeen last weekend.

And Bruce expects him to start scoring with more regularity as he matures as a player.

Speaking to Ibrox News, he said: “Hopefully as he gets older and he improves, he’ll work on his finishing.

“He’s a young lad and I’m sure he’ll improve, but if there’s one thing he needs to add to his game it’s scoring more goals.

“But listen, he’s one of Rangers’ key players, and the fact that he got off to such a good start this season – a winning performance with the winning goal against Aberdeen – it will do him the world of good with the season ahead too.”

Kent’s goal against Aberdeen was his 15th for the Gers in all competitions since he arrived at Ibrox a couple of seasons ago.

Last term, he registered eight strikes in 34 outings over the course of a largely inconsistent campaign.

In other Rangers news, Darren Fletcher has backed this Gers talent for big season in 20/21 after impressive showing v Aberdeen.
