Report – Rangers interested in Feyenoord starlet Summerville

Rangers are interested in signing Feyenoord youngster Crysencio Summerville, according to Dutch outlet Voetbal International.

The 18-year-old is already playing regular senior football in the Netherlands, and has made 21 appearances for ex-Ibrox favourite Dick Advocaat this season.

The teenager has hit two goals and three assists in that time.

The report suggests that Wolverhampton Wanderers have already had a bid rejected for the youngster.

Alongside Rangers, Anderlecht and Red Bull Salzburg are also credited with an interest in the starlet, who spent the first half of the season on loan with ADO Den Haag.

But it is understood that the Gers could struggle to secure a deal for the player, with Feyenoord reluctant to let such a promising young talent leave.

Would Summerville be a good signing for Rangers?

If we could get him, absolutely.

The Netherlands youth international is a hugely promising talent, and one that is already performing at a very advanced level.

This season, for instance, he has averaged a higher dribble success rate than Ryan Kent, as well as making more accurate crosses, scoring more goals per game, and having a shot accuracy rate that is 28.5% better, as per Wyscout.

When you consider the fact that he is still only 18, those stats are absurd.

Whether we would actually be able to wrap up a deal for the youngster is a different matter entirely, however.

The report makes it very clear that Feyenoord are not overly keen on the prospect of selling their man, and if Wolves are being knocked back, you would have to question whether we have the financial capabilities needed to convince them to part with Summerville.

As such, we think this one might be a little unrealistic, but he is definitely a player to keep an eye on.
