‘Hell of a move’: Ibrox Exclusive: Bruce reacts to report linking Rangers ace Morelos to Everton

We’re delighted to welcome former Scottish Premiership defender Alex Bruce as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Rangers…

Alex Bruce has claimed that a switch to Everton would be a “hell of a move” for Rangers star Alfredo Morelos this summer.

Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, the former Kilmarnock defender suggested that the 24-year-old’s goalscoring prowess will make him hot property in the market over the coming weeks.

Football Insider reported earlier in the week that the Toffees are eager to land the Colombian, with manager Carlo Ancelotti convinced that he can make the step up to the English top flight.

And Bruce is inclined to agree.

When asked whether Morelos could cope in the Premier League, he told Ibrox News, he said: “I think so.

“A club like Everton would be a hell of a move for Morelos.

“I think he’s a very good player, he knows where the back of the net is, he’s proven he’s a very good goalscorer for Rangers, and I’ve said before on numerous occasions that it wouldn’t surprise me if a Premier League club – a decent one – came in and tried to get him.

“He’s the kind of player that everyone wants.”

Rangers

Morelos hit 29 goals for the Gers this season, but has struggled in 2020, and has just one goal since the turn of the year.

Football Insider also reported recently that Rangers could be willing to accept a bid of as little as £12 million for their star asset.
