Rangers must be kicking themselves for letting Jamie Murphy leave on loan in January.
The 30-year-old looked to be well out of the loop at Ibrox in the first half of the season, and it’s no real surprise that the Gers took the decision to allow him to go out and seek first team elsewhere.
Since he made the move to Burton Albion last month, however, he has been setting League One alight, so much so that many Ibrox supporters are desperate to bring him back to Glasgow as soon as possible.
Murphy struck the opener in his new club’s 4-1 defeat to Ipswich Town on Saturday afternoon – his fourth strike in six outings for the Brewers.
This goal was another classy finish, with plenty of poise and enough wherewithal to find the bottom corner with ease.
Murphy honestly looks like a new man south of the border, and he continues to impress week after week.
By contrast, the Gers have stuttered and faltered since returning from their winter break, so it’s only natural that fans are crying out for a bit of something different.
Could Murphy provide that when he comes back to Glasgow next season?
You honestly wouldn’t bet against him at this rate.

Why on earth we let him go out on loan when we have some poor players is beyond me. Well done though Jamie, glad you're doing well after all you've been through

You would really expect Jamie Murphy to go down and shine in that league and he is. Good on him 👏
