‘On his way’: These Rangers fans are feeling confident after fresh transfer update
Rangers’ sporting director Ross Wilson has been pretty clear about the club’s ambitions in this transfer window.
As per the Scottish Sun, the senior Ibrox figure has detailed how the Gers will look to offload surplus talent over the next couple of weeks instead of brining in a boatload of new faces.
That being said, Wilson did also point out that the Bears might be willing to make a move for the right target should an opportunity present itself.
In that regard, they could end up being busier than expected.
According to reliable journalist Bruce Archer, Charlton Athletic have decided against offering a new deal to striker Lyle Taylor, and could allow him to leave The Valley this month.
Archer then goes on to suggest that the Bears are interested in the 29-year-old, and this is not the first time we’ve heard this, with Sky Sports also reporting their eagerness to land him back in December.
And if Rangers do decide to press on with their interest in the hitman, it can only be a good thing.
After all, he has hit seven goals and an assist in 13 Championship games so far this season, and would be available at a knockdown price as the Addicks scrabble to ensure they don’t lose him on a free at the end of the season.
Taylor is a real threat in and around the box, averaging 2.6 shots per 90 minutes in the league so far this season, as per Whoscored, but his game is so much more than just goal poaching.
As well as a lethal turn of pace and a willingness to play on the shoulder of the last man, he also possesses a remarkable calmness and composure on the ball.
His movement is intelligent and his record speaks for itself.
If he is available, it’s an absolute no-brainer to snap him up, and that’s the opinion of many fans too…
