Rangers ready to cut short loan deal for exciting 18-year-old – report
It has been a frustrating couple of months for Rangers rising star Josh McPake at Dundee this season.
The exciting attacker has a bright future ahead of him but has been rarely used this season at the Championship side.
Now it is looking like he could get the chance to impress elsewhere, with the 18-year-old expected to return back to Glasgow.
Rangers have been reported by Football Insider on Saturday morning to be ready to recall McPake after he picked up an injury.
The reputable football outlet has claimed that the 18-year-old will complete his rehabilitation at Ibrox, and not return to Dundee after that is completed.
It is suggested that Steven Gerrard and Rangers are keen to keep an eye on the exciting young talent over the next month after his lack of action.
It is no surprise that Rangers want McPake back at the club despite him still having a month remaining on his current deal at the Scottish Championship side.
The 18-year-old has only featured seven times in all competition, with just three of those being starts at Den Park.
Gerrard would surely much prefer his academy talents to be completing many more minutes away from the club so that when they return they are most accustomed to first-team football at Ibrox.
