Kenny Miller makes two big predictions for Rangers v Celtic League Cup final

Former Rangers striker Kenny Miller has made two big predictions for the League Cup final that will make Rangers fans purr.

First, he thinks that Rangers are going to win their first piece of silverware of the Steven Gerrard era.

He thinks Rangers will win 2-1 and that the game could go to extra time.

He also thinks the game is the perfect opportunity for Alfredo Morelos to score his first-ever goal against Celtic, citing the fantastic form that he’s in this season.

Talking in the Evening Times, Miller said, “I will say 2-1 for Rangers and it wouldn’t surprise me if the game goes to extra time.”

Talking about Morelos, who has been in fantastic form this season, both in terms of the number of goals that he’s scored and the paucity of yellow cards, Miller said: “He’s not allowing things to spill over or get involved in the silly little things he got himself involved in last season. His performances this season have been excellent and there’s no doubt he’s going to become a huge player.

“I believe that over the course of the season, whether it’s a final like Sunday, league games or cup semi-finals, Alfredo will break his duck.

“It would not surprise me if it’s a big goal on Sunday given the form he’s in. If you look at the European game last midweek, he wasn’t in the game and then pops up with two world-class headers.”

Scoring against Celtic is the one thing Morelos has yet to do in his time at Rangers. He broke his international duck this season and has already scored 25 goals for Rangers across all competitions.

A late winner against Celtic would be absolute poetry.

BT Sport’s coverage of the game kicks off at 9am on Sunday and runs through until 6pm.

The game kicks off at Hampden Park at 3pm.
