Gary Lineker reacts to Rangers win v Porto on Twitter

Rangers beat Porto 2-0 in their Group G game in the Europa League last night and it moved Gary Lineker to react on Twitter.

He called it a “belting” result against a “big” club and it moves Steven Gerrard’s men to within one win from the knockout stages.

Rangers travel to Feyenoord next on November 28, and a win in Rotterdam would be enough to see them seal progression into the next round.

A defeat could see the group completely turned on its head, with the possibility of all four teams being on seven points with one game to go.

The good thing for Rangers is that the final group game is at home against Young Boys, but the aim has to be to avoid a final-day sweat.

Rangers have beaten Feyenoord once already and victory in Rotterdam, while a tough ask, isn’t past Steven Gerrard’s men.

A draw against Feyenoord coupled with a Young Boys win in the other game would also see Rangers qualify.

The bookies think qualification is almost nailed on, with odds as short as 2/9 for Rangers to progress. They’re actually favourites to go on and win the group, with Porto at 13/8 to qualify and Feyenoord at 4/1.
