Crystal Palace want Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos in January and are plotting a £20m swoop for the Colombian hitman.
The Scottish Sun also claims that Palace’s sporting director, Dougie Freedman, was at Tynecastle on Sunday to see Morelos play for himself.
Morelos has always been open about his ambition to play in the Premier League and he scored the equalising goal in a 1-1 draw that saw his side slip off the top of the table.
The report claims that Aston Villa are another interested Premier League party and were also scouting Morelos in Sunday’s game.
Steven Gerrard wants to hold onto Morelos and selling him midway through a season where Rangers are competitive at the top of the Premiership wouldn’t go down well with the fans.
He’s already scored 15 goals this season and will be a key player if Rangers are to finally wrest the title from their rival’s hands.
However, given that Morelos wants to play in the Premier League, any firm offers would be a distraction at best and could turn his head.
Ross Wilson has come in as new sporting director at Rangers and one of his first jobs should be to ensure that Morelos stays until the end of the season.
