'Terrific' – These fans react to goal-scoring display from Rangers loanee

Rangers striker Zak Rudden finally got his loan move to Plymouth Argyle off the ground with the opening goal in the EFL Trophy game against Swindon on Wednesday night.

19-year-old Rudden, who came up through the youth ranks at Rangers, is on loan with the League Two side until January.

He’s blanked in eight games up until last night and he was obviously relieved to get that all-important goal as he tweeted, “About time” after the game. His side went on to coast to a 3-0 victory which leaves them top of their group after two games.

He’s been unlucky according to WyScout, with an xG of 2.02 over the nine games but hopefully the floodgates will open now.

It’s the second loan spell the youngster has been on after scoring 12 goals in 31 games for Falkirk in the Championship last season.

Plymouth fans were delighted to see their new man get his first goal and Rudden will now be hoping he can kick on and catch the attention of Steven Gerrard back at Ibrox.
