Rangers are continuing their efforts to sign Jens Hjerto-Dahl this summer.

There have been so many names linked to Ibrox already outside of the done deals.

Manager Derek McInnes has come in from Hearts and will be joined by five fresh faces at this early stage of the window.

The latest additions of Ivor Pandur and Dan Neil will make a difference, but the Gers don't appear to be done there.

The latter joined from Sunderland on a free transfer and could soon be joined in the Govan midfield conversation.

Hjerto-Dahl remains a target as the Ibrox club now know exactly how much Tromso want this summer.

Tromso demand 'significant' fee for Jens Hjerto-Dahl

The Light Blues are going through yet another summer of change, just as they did 12 months ago.

Not much went right last time around and there is a need for a fresh approach this time around.

It seems that McInnes is getting his say on who comes in and that has continued with efforts to sign Hjerto-Dahl.

The Rangers Review reported on Thursday that Tromso want a "significant seven-figure" fee to sell the 20-year-old.

A £5.5million bid from the Gers is said to be "forthcoming", although a Championship club has reportedly bettered that already.

The midfielder is keen on a move to Govan this summer but would cost them a fee closer to £8.5m.

From Rangers' perspective, they now know exactly what the next step is: Either make an improved offer in the right region, or walk away.

Rangers can follow new transfer policy with Hjerto-Dahl

There has been plenty of links to the Light Blues this summer and plenty of them have been captains or had leadership qualities.

Neil has come in after many years as Sunderland captain and that trend has continued.

Vanja Dragojevic and Lewis Ferguson are both captains of their respective sides and are of interest at Ibrox.

Hjerto-Dahl continues to be a target and, although he isn't a skipper at Tromso, has been described as a "future leader" by his former Norway under-18s coach Luis Pimenta.

That could see the Norwegian fit in perfectly with what McInnes is trying to do moving into his first season as manager in G51.
