Nicolas Raskin may not be a Rangers player for much longer.

Having joined from Standard Liege back in January 2023, Raskin has been a superb player for Rangers.

But, now 25 and entering the prime of his career, he perhaps feels as though he's ready to explore a new chapter.

The midfielder has been strongly linked with a move away from Ibrox this summer, with interest being mooted from across European football.

Gers have also been pushing on with their own recruitment drive, and Derek McInnes is set to welcome further arrivals before the 3 September deadline.

However, Rangers' transfer coffers aren't a bottomless pit, and one or two more sizeable exits may be required to ensure the books are balanced.

Rangers transfer exit talk has been heating up for Raskin in recent days, as time begins to tick down in this summer window.

The Rangers Review have recently claimed that Gers have fielded approaches from English, Italian and Spanish clubs for the Belgian.

He played no part in Rangers' UEFA Conference League qualification final first-leg with Jablonec last Thursday either.

Rangers' TikTok account has filmed the squad boarding their plane to Prague ahead of their second-leg clash with the Czech's on Thursday evening.

The footage shows the vast majority of the Rangers squad there, but Raskin is not seen.

McInnes did explain Raskin's first-leg absence away through injury, but of course, with so much transfer talk surrounding him there is an element of scepticism there.

With it looking increasingly likely Raskin won't be in Glasgow beyond this transfer window, a big decision needs to be made on what comes after.

The 49ers have already injected a lot of money into improving the playing squad this summer, but many are struggling to hit the ground running.

No less than three new central midfielders in Vanja Dragojevic, Cammy Devlin and Dan Neil have joined, but all three have had rocky starts.

Rangers haven't spent the money they have this summer to fall short in the Scottish Premiership title race again.

Losing arguably their best player in Raskin would be a huge blow to their chances, and on current evidence, those left to pick up the slack would have to improve significantly.

But in bringing in a fourth player in this position, that could serve to de-motivate and disrupt the aforementioned trio, who may feel angered by a perceived lack of trust.

Most likely, Rangers will probably stick with the central midfield signings they've made if Raskin goes, but the pressure will be firmly on them to improve if so.
