Rangers may have a chance to sign Djurgarden winger Oskar Fallenius in January.

The Gers already know they could potentially have an opportunity to get him on a free transfer.

Derek McInnes' attack was bolstered heavily in the summer window and it remains to be seen whether the Light Blues will want to do any more business up front at the start of 2027.

The Ibrox recruitment department will surely have plans in place and Fallenius may feature in them.

Over the last few seasons, the Swedish attacker has been linked with a move to the Glaswegian outfit.

The Govan side could finally be tempted to get a deal over the line for the attacker once his contract expires.

What Oskar Fallenius has said about future amid Rangers interest

Fallenius has attracted Rangers' interest in the past, and his situation at Djurgarden makes his future one to watch.

At the end of 2026, the 24-year-old could become a free agent and hasn't expressed any intention of extending his stay.

Speaking to Aftonbladet on 8 September, the attacker said, "I have planned to stay here until the contract expires and then we can take it from there.

"But we have a pretty big range right now, and I have ambitions. But I've been here for three and a half years now and I think I'll get a clear feeling after the season, so we'll see what's best for me and Djurgarden."

If the Swedish winger does indeed decide to become a free agent, the Glaswegian outfit will certainly have an opportunity to propose a contract.

Fallenius looks eager to take the next step in his career and Ibrox could give the attacker a platform to showcase his abilities and potentially get a move down south.

Why Oskar Fallenius transfer could be financially prudent at Ibrox

Andrew Cavenagh has splashed the cash at Rangers, but the American owners will certainly want to see a return on it.

For a stable business model, the Gers need a suitable player trading model.

Djeidi Gassama and Youssef Chermiti are among the Light Blues' prime assets right now and may be sold for a significant profit in the coming years.

While the former Sheffield Wednesday winger has been a key player for McInnes, it wouldn't be surprising to see the Glaswegian outfit cash in on him for a significant offer.

Signing Fallenius on a free to possibly replace Gassama would make a lot of sense from a business standpoint, but only time will tell whether the Govan side will put up a serious fight for his signature.
