The midfield area is clearly somewhere the new manager has seen as somewhere to improve.
Dan Neil, Cammy Devlin and Vanja Dragojevic have all come in and look to represent real coup for the Gers.
That leaves little room for an academy talent like Nsio, who has now turned down English interest for St Mirren.
Who wanted Paul Nsio from Rangers?
There is plenty of hype surrounding the 20-year-old having made three senior appearances at Ibrox already.
His reputation was summed up by his first loan spell away from Govan being with Raith Rovers in the Scottish Championship.
The Englishman went on to be a regular at Stark's Park and has since made his Govan return.
Nsio has now made his decision for his next loan move as he has joined St Mirren.
Joshua Barrie reported on Thursday that there was plenty of interest, including from English clubs, but wants to make the step up to the Scottish Premiership with Craig McLeish's side.
It has been suggested that Kilmarnock and Dundee were also in the race, while Wigan Athletic and Blackpool also had eyes on the 2006-born talent.
The decision to join St Mirren says a lot about his mentality as it could prove to be the making of his Govan career.
Why it's wise for Nsio to choose St Mirren
There may be questions over why the youngster would choose the side that only narrowly avoided relegation via play-off.
The Buddies only narrowly got past Partick Thistle, but will now kick-off their season still in the Premiership.
All that actually plays into Nsio's hands as he's almost guaranteed to be a regular for a side lower down the division.
That may not be the case elsewhere in Scotland or in England, especially if Wigan or Blackpool were eying promotion.
The decision smacks of a young talent who wants to play football and prove himself every week.
That could certainly serve him well at Ibrox, especially when he returns next summer.
