Mikey Moore doesn't look to have chosen Rangers as his preferred destination this summer.

The Bears have played the long game for the 18-year-old after he won the hearts of the Ibrox faithful last season.

The Tottenham youngster quickly won people over in Govan through passionate performances that were mixed in with truly magical moments, a couple of which came against Celtic.

The arrival of Derek McInnes raised questions over whether the Bears would still make a move for Moore or not.

However, reports have suggested that the Gers have, in fact, been trying to bring the teenager back to Glasgow, despite a switch in manager.

Now, it appears that Rangers look set to miss out on Moore, who is close to finalising his next decision.

Ibrox News previously reported that Moore's "favoured" move was one abroad instead of a return to Rangers.

This immediately put the Gers in a losing battle, but they clearly haven't given up on the player.

According to football.london journalist and Spurs insider, Alasdair Gold, Rangers were interested in signing Moore once again, but the Lilywhites were leaning towards a new experience for their winger.

It's said that German side FC Koln are said to be Moore's preferred club if he moves abroad, with long-standing interest coming from the Bundesliga outfit.

Nothing has been agreed yet, but Koln are very keen on the left-winger, for whom they are in advanced talks, as they now just wait on a final "green light" from the player and the club.

Everything is pointing towards Moore going to Germany, though Rangers may still have a glimmer of hope.

The 'interesting' twist that could take Moore back to Ibrox

Gold has also hinted that it will be "interesting" if any clubs, specifically English, make a last-minute push for Moore.

This is because several Premier League and Championship sides are said to be interested in the Englishman.

However, what it may also suggest is that Rangers have yet to make an official approach, and if they do, they could win Moore over once again.

Koln are clearly the most keen club, but if the Bears get their act together and make a move, they could perform the hijack of the window.
