Why Corrie Ndaba talk should have Tuur Rommens worried at Rangers
Corrie Ndaba would bring some Serie A-leading qualities to Rangers.
Rangers have been aggressive in the transfer market so far, and they aren't showing any signs of slowing down.
Derek McInnes is being backed to build a team capable of finally lifting the Scottish Premiership title once again in 2026-27.
Rangers have strengthened in the centre and on the right of their defence with Ben Godfrey and Ross McCrorie respectively, and now they could be set to bolster down the left with Lecce left-back Ndaba.
Capable of operating across the backline, the 26-year-old Ireland international may soon become Rangers' seventh signing of the summer so far.
And, despite not playing vast quantities of games in Italian football last season, when he was on the pitch, he let his quality be known to all.
Where Corrie Ndaba led his Serie A rivals in 2025-26
Ibrox News has been following reports claiming that Rangers are interested in signing Ndaba this summer.
Left-back isn't Rangers' weakest position in the squad, with Tuur Rommens looking a solid signing and now Clinton Nsiala returning from his loan spell to provide some depth there respectively.
However, the Dublin-born defender has done enough with Lecce to suggest that if he is to arrive at Ibrox in the near future, that Rommens may just be looking over his shoulder.
As per FotMob, Ndaba completed all six of his dribble attempts successfully across his 14 Serie A appearances in 2025-26.
Meanwhile, no Serie A left-back recorded more clearances per 90 than his 6.18, whilst he also ranked in the top 9.4 per cent of his positional rivals with his 8.18 defensive contributions per game respectively.
Ndaba also finished amongst the best in Italy's top flight in his position per 90 for his 0.17 times dispossessed, 0.33 fouls committed, 58.8 per cent duels won and 0.17 headed shots respectively.
Not only has Ndaba shown he can put up seriously good underlying numbers in a top five European league, but he's also no stranger to starring in Scottish football either.
Ndaba dominated his Scottish Premiership rivals with Kilmarnock
Prior to joining Lecce last summer, Ndaba was fresh off the back of a superb 2024-25 season in the Scottish Premiership with Kilmarnock.
He played 36 times for Killie in the league that year, scoring once and providing one assist, as well as making one appearance in the UEFA Conference League respectively.
Indeed, no player in his position in the Scottish Premiership that term won more than his 232 duels or 125 aerial duels.
Ndaba also ranked in the top 6.7 percentile for his 70.6 per cent dribble success rate, 10 shots on target, 286 defensive contributions and 158 recoveries.
Even better than that, he placed in the leading 4.4 per cent of his positional rivals for his 19 blocked shots and 33 clearances as well, proving himself as one of the very best defenders in the league.
So, should he be Govan-bound this summer, then he surely wouldn't be coming to sit on the bench and play a bit part role in McInnes' side.
