Where Lewis Ferguson has just been spotted near Glasgow as Rangers rumours rumble on
Lewis Ferguson has been spotted near Glasgow amid rumours of a move to Rangers.
The midfielder is wanted at Ibrox by Derek McInnes, as the pair have a strong history together after their time at Aberdeen.
Ferguson has been with Bologna since leaving the Dons, but has been linked with an exit this summer after contract talks were halted.
The 26-year-old is now back in Scotland after he was unable to prevent the Tartan Army from a woeful World Cup campaign in North America.
There have been rumours to suggest Nicolas Raskin could be involved in a potential midfield swap deal, as the Light Blues have yet to be ruled out of the running.
Now, with Ferguson back in Glasgow, he may spark further rumours about a move to Rangers.
This is where Lewis Ferguson has been spotted amid Rangers links
Rangers have constantly been linked with Ferguson this summer, and it's no surprise as to why.
The midfielder's future with Bologna is uncertain, and with the Serie A side keen on both Raskin and Connor Barron, a deal feels like it may not be as hard as first imagined.
Despite this, it's said that the Bears know it would be a difficult transfer to agree to, but the 49ers could go to extreme lengths for McInnes.
Ferguson's family have connections to the Govan side, which only further adds to the speculation of him joining the Bears.
The Scotland international has been spotted just outside of Glasgow this week, as shared by ICONS Hair Lounge on Instagram, where the player was booked in for a haircut.
The barber shop is located approximately 19.8 miles away from Ibrox, and is just a short 30-minute car ride to Rangers' stadium.
Gers fans may start to think that this transfer could be on the cards after all.
How Ferguson transfer raises questions about Rangers' plans
There's every chance that if Raskin were to be sold, funds would then be allocated to go towards whatever Ferguson would cost.
But the Bears are wanting to sign Vanja Dragojevic and Jens Hjerto-Dahl, two young midfielders who could cost over £10million.
If the pair did come to Ibrox, they would each have to compete with Dan Neil, Tochi Chukwuani, Mohamed Diomande, and possibly Raskin, as well as Barron,
Keep in mind that McInnes is also likely to play just two central midfielders in a 4-4-2 formation.
It raises questions of where Ferguson would fit in, and so maybe the rumours could just be one big pipedream.
