When Rangers will announce £6m fourth summer signing
Rangers are edging closer to announcing their fourth signing of the summer.
Derek McInnes has come in as manager and no time has been wasted since his appointment.
Lawrence Shankland had already come in from Hearts on a well-recieved free transfer.
He has been joined by Ross McCrorie and most recently Ben Godfrey on a season-long loan from Atalanta.
It looks as if a goalkeeper is next on the list as the Gers look set to replace Jack Butland.
Ivor Pandur looks set to sign at Ibrox in a deal that will save any financial repecussions.
Rangers save Hull City from points deduction with Ivor Pandur deal
It looks like being a transformational summer in G51 with a new shot-stopper summing that up.
Butland has been the go-to man in between the sticks for three years, but he has certainly declined recently.
It could be the ideal time to replace him and it looks as if long-term target Pandur is set to do exactly that.
Hull Live reported on Monday that the Croatia international is set to join Rangers in a deal worth £6million.
Butland will go the other way as part of the arrangement as the Hull City look to give their goalkeeping department a fresh look.
That may seem like a strange move from the Tigers, but they have been forced to do business to avoid a financial penalty.
Hull are reportedly in a £6m deficit against Profit and Sustainability rules and if they were ruled to have breached those, they could have returned to the Premier League with a points deduction.
That would have obviously been the worst-case scenario at the MKM Stadium, but an imminent transfer at Ibrox could save the East Yorkshire outfit.
When could Rangers announce Pandur?
With the Tigers in desperate need of incoming funds, they will be keen to act quickly.
They were reportedly unable to extend their accounting period, so are working to a 30 June deadline to report their finances.
That falls into Rangers' favour as they could quickly wrap up a deal for Pandur before Tuesday's deadline.
A deal could be confirmed and announced in Govan before then as Hull will be on high alert to avoid any sort of punishment.
The Bears can now sit patiently and wait knowing that a new goalkeeper is set to come through the doors at Auchenhowie within days.
