Rangers get the reset they needed as £6m Jack Butland replacement signed
Rangers could be set for a much-needed move away from Jack Butland.
The Englishman has been the long-term number one keeper at Ibrox since signing from Manchester United in June 2023.
There have certainly been some star moments from the 33-year-old throughout his time in Govan.
He has come under fire in recent years, summed up by Barry Ferguson when he benched the keeper in favour of Liam Kelly.
The shot stopper returned to the starting role for the most recent campaign under Danny Rohl.
With Derek McInnes in charge, it appears that his days with the Gers are over as a replacement looks set to come in.
Details shared as Rangers set to sign Ivor Pandur from Hull City
The Light Blues are wasting no time this summer and look set to complete another signing.
Hull Live reported on Monday that Ivor Pandur is expected to join Rangers from Hull City.
A deal for the Croatian will cost the Govan club £6million, while Butland goes the other way to the MKM Stadium.
The inbound keeper is expected to sign a long-term deal at Ibrox while he continues to feature at the World Cup in North America.
Hull are keen to give their goalkeeping department a new-look and look set to do so with Butland.
Although he has been a useful servant at Ibrox, it feels unlikely that there will be many reservations about this deal.
Why Rangers needed to say goodbye to Butland this summer
There haven't been many better players on a whole in G51 since the keeper came in from Old Trafford.
He has been excellent in spells and some of his saves have been nothing short of excellent.
That being said, Butland has played a key role and been a poster boy of Rangers' recent decline.
In three years at Ibrox, he's only ever won one League Cup and hasn't truly come close to winning a Scottish Premiership title.
It is now time for him to move on and the Light Blues appear to have found a best case scenario to replace him.
Pandur has been linked with a move in the past and looks set to join as a true alternative for Butland.
