Rangers did make an offer for Cerny and he has been a concrete target for them this summer.
While the Super Lig club have received multiple proposals from different teams, it looks like the former VfL Wolfsburg player has decided to stay in Turkiye.
According to Kartal Analiz journalist Sercan Dikme, Cerny eventually didn't move to the Gers because Besiktas couldn't find a replacement for him.
It looks like one of the conditions for the 28-year-old's sale at the Istanbul club was finding his successor, but that hasn't happened so far.
For now, the Czechia attacker is expected to stay at the Super Lig side and the Glaswegian outfit's hopes of getting him back seem to have ended.
What win vs Falkirk proved about Derek McInnes' attack
McInnes has been getting better performances out of the Rangers team since sticking with the 4-2-3-1 formation.
