What Max Dowman would offer Derek McInnes as Rangers transfer revelation made

Max Dowman has been told he would be very welcome on loan at Rangers.

The Arsenal sensation once again grabbed the headlines after scoring a brace in his first appearance of the season against Ipswich Town.

He scored two wonderful goals to help the Gunners past the Tractor Boys away from home in a Carabao Cup tie.

Rangers signed plenty of wingers in the summer, some of which are even being used as central attacking midfielders by Derek McInnes.

It's safe to say that the final third will once again be looked at and possibly upgraded in the winter market, with the Premier League loan market always a useful place to browse.

Dowman could be available for loan by Arsenal, and Ally McCoist would love nothing more than to see the 16-year-old come to Ibrox.

Dowman became the youngest-ever goal scorer in Premier League history after netting a stoppage-time finish in Arsenal's 2-0 victory over Everton in March.

He is also a regular for England's U21s, and has been tipped to play for the Three Lions' senior team in the future,

Speaking with Alan Brazil on talkSPORT, McCoist revealed that he would take Dowman on loan to Rangers.

McCoist said: "I wouldn't have a problem with it [a loan] if Mikel Arteta thought it was the best thing for his development.

"Aye, I would take him, 100 per cent I'd take him at Ibrox."

Brazil asked: "Mikey Moore did alright, didn't he?"

McCoist replied: "Yeah, he did really well"

Brazil then jokingly said that he thinks Dowman is a bit better than Rangers.

Whether or not Arsenal would let the teenager leave on loan in January remains to be seen, but Moore would be a good example for him to follow.

Looking at Dowman as a player, he has plenty to offer McInnes.

Dowman looks to be a generational talent, and Arsenal will be managing his development very carefully.

Though he's in and around the first team, he's not close to being a regular starter due to the world-class players ahead of him, making a loan move away from the Emirates at some point seem sensible.

The versatile attacking midfielder created 2.35 chances per 90 for Arsenal last campaign, even though he was limited to rare appearances off the bench in the Premier League.

He also completed an average of 3.53 dribbles per game, getting the same number of shots off on average every 90 minutes.

Dowman could be a fearless outlet for McInnes to add to his already young attack.

Who knows? Perhaps Rangers will be crying out for a player like him come the winter window.
