What it'll take for Tromso to accept Rangers bid for midfield gem Jens Hjerto-Dahl
Rangers remain admirers of Tromso midfielder Jens Hjerto-Dahl.
There has been no shortage of names linked to Ibrox this summer as Derek McInnes looks to improve his side massively.
That has seen plenty of central options emerge as targets in Govan throughout the summer.
Dan Neil has already come in on a free transfer, but the Light Blues certainly aren't done there.
Hjerto-Dahl has been eyed in G51 in recent weeks, but a move still hangs in the balance.
Interest has now emerged away from Ibrox which appears to have let the Gers know exactly how much they need to pay.
Tromso make Jens Hjerto-Dahl demand clear
The 20-year-old is certainly highly rated after three years as a regular in the Eliteserien.
He has made 97 appearances for Tromso at this early stage of his career, but could now be set for his next step.
The Govan club want to bring him in, but Ibrox News covered interest in Hjerto-Dahl from Cardiff City.
That has now been echoed in a TEAMtalk report on Tuesday, but the Norwegian is said to be keen on a move to Rangers this summer.
Cardiff's approach doesn't appear to have impacted the chances of a deal as TEAMtalk, although Tromso are said to be holding out for close to £7million for his signature.
They are reluctant to lose Hjerto-Dahl, but he is said to be favouring a move to G51 right now.
What we know about Cardiff City's Hjerto-Dahl bid
The Bluebirds have entered the race to sign the youngster and have made their presence felt in the race for his signature.
That comes after Sky Sports' Anthony Joseph reported on Tuesday that they made a £5.5m bid to Tromso.
It was rejected as they continue to hold out for that fee closer to £7m.
That, paired with Hjerto-Dahl sharing his preference for Ibrox should serve McInnes well in the race for his signature.
Rangers now know exactly how much they need to pay should they push to get a deal over the line in the coming days and weeks.
