Vaclav Cerny departure 'approved' as Rangers in club-to-club talks for deadline-beating deal

Vaclav Cerny could be the final piece to Rangers' transfer jigsaw this summer.

The Bears have been linked to their former loanee all summer long, and he is reportedly open to a move back to Ibrox.

Since initial speculation, Derek McInnes has added several wingers to his ranks, but it's understood that the Gers want even more additions before Thursday's deadline.

Besiktas are suggested to value the 28-year-old at £8.5million, a fee that the Light Blues could be currently negotiating over.

That's because the latest reports suggest that Rangers have not yet given up their dream of bringing Cerny back.

Rangers already have the likes of Djeidi Gassama, Kim Min-su and Daisuke Yokota as options on the right flank, but further reinforcements are wanted in attack.

But according to Turkish outlet Nexus Sports on X on Monday, Rangers are locked in talks with Besiktas over Cerny.

Manager Vincenzo Italiano has "approved" the Czech Republic international's exit, it is claimed.

There is a "serious effort" underway for Cerny, who has a greater chance of leaving the Turkish side than teammate Wilfried Ndidi.

Rangers may just be trying to get Besiktas' asking price down, especially after the money that has already been spent in Govan this summer.

Would Cerny start for Rangers?

McInnes played Kim rather centrally in his debut against Aberdeen, and that could be where the 20-year-old starts from now on.

If that is the case, Yokota, Findlay Curtis and Gassama are the only other options that the Rangers manager will see at right wing.

This is consistent despite rumours that Gassama could leave Ibrox before the deadline.

However, Cerny has already proven himself in Govan, and would have the patience of the Ibrox faithful, who know what he is capable of.
