Sturm Graz replacing Tochi Chukwuani may have handed Rangers their next signing
Rangers gave Sturm Graz a big decision to make when they signed Tochi Chukwuani in January.
The 23-year-old completed a move to Ibrox in January as Danny Rohl looked to revolutionise his midfield.
A fee in the region of £4.3million was paid for his services as he became an instant regular in Govan.
He started well and looked to be a difference-maker for the Light Blues, but he struggled to maintain that form.
That seems to have sparked Derek McInnes and Co. into finding midfield reinforcements this summer.
Rangers could now look to Sturm Graz to replicate their work this summer as they search for a new face in the middle of the park.
Who replaced Tochi Chukwuani at Sturm Graz?
With the Light Blues paying close to £5m for the Dane, there were clearly high hopes for the impact he could make.
The January deal looked to suit all parties as Rangers got their man and the Austrian outfit were able to land a replacement.
They didn't waste any time to do exactly that as Ryan Fosso came in from Eredivisie side Fortuna Sittard.
Chukwuani left on 11 January and the Cameroon international joined three days later on 14 January.
The 24-year-old has gone on to massively impress at Sturm Graz and could soon be on the move himself.
Rangers are interested in his signature as Fosso could be set to replace Chukwuani once again.
How Ryan Fosso could replace Chukwuani at Rangers
It is no secret that a new midfielder is wanted in G51, even after Dan Neil's introduction on a free transfer.
There have been plenty of names linked as McInnes looks to add to his squad in the middle of the park.
Fosso is the latest to emerge as a target as Sky Sports Switzerland reported on Thursday that Rangers are the furthest along in their efforts to sign the Cameroonian amid interest from Italy and Spain.
He is clearly highly rated after his work in Austria and the Gers could be set to benefit from that.
A deal for Fosso may not benefit Chukwuani who could once again find himself being replaced by the 24-year-old.
It will be interesting to see where the January signing will fit in at Ibrox after just six months in Govan.
