Nils Koppen wants to bring in younger players at Rangers in January so a move for Ryan Kent appears to be off the cards, according to the Daily Record.

The news outlet reported that while there have been links with a reunion for the English winger, he's not understood to be considered as a potential option over the coming weeks.

Gers are keen on signing attackers but a reunion with the 28-year-old seems highly unlikely.

Rangers can do better than Ryan Kent

It's a good thing that Koppen is focusing on bringing in younger players as he needs to think about the current squad as well as the future.

While Kent's return may seem exciting on paper, he failed at a club he perceived to be the step up from Gers and that's a sign that he's regressed as a player.

If he was indeed a game-changing attacker, there would've been a lot more clubs queueing up to secure his services.

In past windows, Gers have kept things quiet and things have only broken when they've been close to signing players.

Hopefully, there is progress taking place behind the scenes and soon fans might have a new signing to be excited about.
