Rangers striker Cyriel Dessers may have played his last game at Ibrox as transfer news emerged this week.

TEAMtalk reported on 31 December that the Nigeria international is ready to leave Gers with the club actively looking to sell him.

Philippe Clement's side do not play another home game until 12 January against St Johnstone and by then, Dessers may no longer be at the club.

Rangers must cash in on Cyriel Dessers in January

The 30-year-old was a regular last season but he has fallen down the pecking order in the 2023/24 campaign.

Clement has preferred Danilo and Hamza Igamane over the Nigerian and it's understandable as they're more clinical in front of goal.

While Dessers still has six league goals to his name, he has lacked composure in the final third which has led to many fans turning on him.

It will be best for all parties to part ways in January and Gers can then use those funds to sign another attacker.

Alternatively, they could explore the loan market and bring in someone they could not otherwise afford for the next few months.

The recent win against Celtic may have given them some hope of a comeback in the league as they will be facing their rivals again and need the best players to get the job done.
