Rangers take giant step closer to Mikey Moore return despite £16m intel - view
Tottenham Hotspur seem to have lost faith in giving minutes to younger players - and that may favour Rangers this summer.
The Gers fell short in their bid to to win the Scottish Premiership title, but had it not been for Mikey Moore, they would have been out of the race much sooner.
Rangers relied heavily on him in transition, with the winger evidently getting better with every game that he played.
However, his form in Glasgow made it seem unlikely that he would ever return to Ibrox, with many expecting him to get a chance at Tottenham.
And with pre-season ahead, that may still be the case.
With that said, the latest transfer news to have emerged from Spurs over the last few weeks may spark some optimism in regard to a potential Rangers reunion for Moore.
Why Rangers should be optimistic over Mikey Moore return
Moore, ultimately, was a big fish in a smaller pond at Rangers in comparison to what he would be at Tottenham.
In North London, he would be one of several young players looking to make an impact, much like Luka Vuskovic and Lucas Bergvall.
But the interesting part is that both of the above look destined for exits from North London, with Sky Sports reporting that Bergvall has made his intention to leave quite clear.
Roberto De Zerbi seems to want more experience in his squad, which is bad news for Moore's chances of making an impact.
If that were to be the case, another loan would make sense for the winger, who may well look to prioritise a move back to Rangers given the success he found at Ibrox.
Could Rangers seal permanent deal for Moore?
As unlikely as it is that Moore will be in Tottenham's plans this season, he almost certainly will be in the future.
His potential is clear, and Spurs will be well aware of that.
That, added to the fact that he still has four years left on his contract with the North Londoners, makes a permanent move to Rangers highly unlikely.
As per transfermarkt, Moore is valued at around £16million, which may be a fee too steep for the Gers to pay.
