Rangers yet to address burning summer priority as Vaclav Cerny repeat days away - Verdict
Rangers are just nine days away from Mikey Moore's loan at Ibrox officially expiring.
With the signing of Lawrence Shankland, the Light Blues have already bolstered their goalscoring options, which was a weakness last season.
Only Youssef Chermiti could be relied upon to get the goals, showcasing how much of a priority it really was.
However, if Derek McInnes is to achieve success at Ibrox, there are still various other areas of the squad that will require attention.
Moore, after what was a very successful loan spell in Glasgow, is due to officially return to Tottenham at the end of June.
And with no replacement curently lined up, it very much looks like it could be a repeat of what happened with Vaclav Cerny.
Rangers must avoid Mikey Moore repeat this summer
Moore was a key player for Rangers last season, and if the chance for him to return were to emerge, they would take it.
However, this summer is the perfect chance for the Gers to move away from relying on a loan player to carry much of their attacking threat, and instead shape their own.
It was the same case with Cerny, who had a remarkable campaign on loan, departed, and was replaced by Moore, who needed a bit of time to get up to speed.
Another loan move this summer would require the same situation, and it may be one that they cannot afford.
Rangers may already have Moore replacement
Findlay Curtis, remember him?
The academy product who was never given a fair shot at Rangers before being shipped out on loan and then making his Scotland debut.
If handed the chance, Curtis could easily fill the boots of Moore, though it would require patience from all involved.
With success vital this season, it remains to be seen whether McInnes will have that in him, especially after coming so close to it with Hearts last term.
As for Curtis, he will certainly be hoping that he gets his chance to prove his worth at Ibrox.
