Rangers striker Danilo reacts as Rabbi Matondo completes Hibernian transfer
Rangers striker Danilo has sent a message after Rabbi Matondo completed a move to Hibernian.
The Brazilian ace, who's on loan at Botafogo, is pumped up to see his former teammate back in Scotland.
At the end of March, the Wales international left the Gers for SK Brann on a short-term contract, and was subsequently released in August.
Matondo had been on trial at Hibernian and has now signed a deal until the end of the season, with the option for another year.
Marink Reedijk, who recently replaced David Gray, seems to have been left impressed by the 26-year-old winger's displays in training.
The Glaswegian outfit travel to Easter Road on 5 December and the attacker have a chance to play against his former side soon.
Past and present Rangers players send Rabbi Matondo message
Botafogo have a conditional obligation to buy Danilo at the end of the season, but it remains to be seen whether that will happen.
For now, the Brazilian striker is still linked with the Gers and seems excited for Matondo.
On Hibernian's Instagram post confirming the Welshman's signing, Danilo wrote "go on brother" followed by three fire emojis.
The Light Blues' former player Todd Cantwell, who currently plays for Blackburn Rovers, commented, "Smash it, Rabbi."
Kemar Roofe, who also played alongside Matondo at Ibrox, was also excited about the winger's next step, writing, "Gwarn den Rabs."
Ibrox hierarchy still have work to do on exits
Matondo was let go by Rangers midway through the season as he clearly had no place in Danny Rohl's plans.
While Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises have reshaped the squad quite a bit since the summer of 2025, a few players' futures still need to be resolved.
Derek McInnes told John Souttar at the start of the summer that he wasn't in his plans, but the Scottish defender's exit faced complications in the previous transfer window.
Ross McCausland is also still at Ibrox, and his only appearance came in the Premier Sports Cup against St Mirren.
It's also surprising to see Jose Cifuentes still being on the Govan side's books.
In January, the Glaswegian outfit have a clear task on their hands regarding the three players.
