Rangers star Nicolas Raskin wanted by ex-boss abroad as exit links intensify
Rangers midfielder Nico Raskin is attracting attention from across the continent this summer, with Bologna the latest to show an interest.
Since joining the club in 2023, the Belgian has continued to grow in importance.
In his most recent term at Ibrox, he racked up 50 appearances across all competitions.
In 4,204 minutes, he would score seven times and provide nine assists - earning him a spot in Belgium's World Cup squad.
With eyes on him this summer, Rangers could be bracing for bids, should he continue to perform.
Coincidentally, his form has resulted in former Belgium boss Domenico Tedesco looking to prompt a deal with the Gers.
Rangers fans to be baffled with Domenico Tedesco interest
Having taken charge of the Belgian national team in 2023, Tedesco would guide the Red Devils into Euro 2024.
Famously, he continued to overlook Raskin during this period, with the Gers midfielder excluded from a list of 150 potential players for the national pool.
The German/Italian would lose his job after Euro 2024, with Belgium knocked out by France at the round of 16 stage, winning just once in the tournament.
Now, Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb report on Wednesday that Tedesco is driving a pursuit at new club Bologna, after he replaced Vincenzo Italiano at the helm.
Said to be looking for a midfielder to operate at the base of his 4-3-3 system, Raskin is viewed as someone who would fit directly into the role.
Rangers fans will of course hope Raskin stays, but if nothing else then more positive World Cup displays will only drive his price up.
What will Derek McInnes' plans be with Nico Raskin this summer?
Previously, it had been reported that Raskin could be set for a move away from Ibrox this summer.
However, that could well change as a result of Derek McInnes' arrival, alongside the fact that Belgium's performances currently point in the direction of an earlier exit than they would have envisaged.
The talent is most certainly there with the midfielder, who may believe he is ready for a move away
But the best option may just be to get back to Glasgow and have conversations with McInnes regarding the coming term, with Raskin potentially enticed by the project at Ibrox.
