Rangers now have reason to cash in on Youssef Chermiti after friendly win vs Dunfermline
Rangers have won their second consecutive pre-season friendly against Dunfermline Athletic on Wednesday.
Auchenhowie hosted the William Hill Championship side on 8 July, with the game ending in a 3-1 victory for the Gers.
Bojan Miovski, Ryan Naderi and Mohamed Diomande were on the scoresheet for the Light Blues as Derek McInnes continues his preparations for next season.
Youssef Chermiti, who has been linked with a big-money move away from Ibrox, also started against Dunfermline, but was unable to get on the scoresheet.
The former Everton ace is attracting plenty of interest away from the Glaswegian outfit after scoring 13 league goals since the turn of the year.
McInnes has been experimenting with a 4-4-1-1 formation during the recent friendlies and they may be able to afford to sell the 22-year-old striker this summer.
Who is perfect partner for Lawrence Shankland at Rangers?
Lawrence Shankland was a pivotal part of McInnes' plans at Hearts, ending the season with 16 William Hill Premiership goals.
It wouldn't be surprising to see the Scotland international be guaranteed a starting spot at Ibrox, as the 54-year-old head coach will surely look to replicate the partnership he had with Claudio Braga at Tynecastle Park.
The two strikers operated off each other's positions for the Jam Tarts — when one dropped deep, the other pushed the opposition's defence.
Shankland's strengths lie in his ability to hold the ball, create space for his partner and latch onto second balls in front of goal.
While Chermiti may have speed on his side, Naderi has shown intelligence to find spaces and run down the channels during his short time at Ibrox, something that could complement the ex-Hearts forward's style of play.
Considering Shankland will turn 31 in August, the German forward can provide the pressing intensity needed up top, using his relentless work rate to help his attacking partner.
What does the future hold for Ryan Naderi and Bojan Miovski at Ibrox?
Rangers could cash in on Chermiti if they receive a significant offer for him amid interest from Olympique Lyon.
The Portugal Under-21 international could possibly end up leaving the Gers, as Naderi has shown he can be a reliable outlet for them, having also scored in the friendly against Raith Rovers.
Miovski is also being given a chance to prove himself under McInnes and the goal against Dunfermline can be the first step towards proving his worth in G51.
Chermiti's sale could provide Naderi with a clear path to a first-team spot, while the North Macedonia centre-forward would surely consider taking his chances at Ibrox rather than moving elsewhere.
