Rangers look at 'name' as chances of late double attacker transfer now revealed

Rangers have shown deadline day interest in PSV forward Esmir Bajraktarevic.

Derek McInnes is hoping to make some last-minute additions to his Rangers squad.

The Scottish Premiership transfer window shuts at 5pm on Thursday.

Gers have so far added 12 new players to the squad this summer, but Ibrox chiefs are working to try and extend that further.

However, Bajraktarevic may now be out of Rangers' reach.

Do Rangers have enough time to seal Esmir Bajraktarevic deal?

It was reported on Thursday that Rangers were in talks to sign Bajraktarevic from PSV.

And according to an X post from PSV reporter Rik Elfrink, Rangers have indeed shown interest in signing Bajraktarevic.

However, he claims that Gers don't have the time in order to complete a loan move for the 21-year-old before the 5pm deadline.

As a result, the Bosnian look set to remain with the Eredivisie outfit.

It's not all bad news though, as Rangers are trying to complete a £15.5million deal to sign Badredine Bouanani from Stuttgart.

But just how much of a blow will this be to Rangers if they do indeed miss out on the versatile forward's signature?

How did Bajraktarevic fare for PSV in 2025-26?

Still at the infancy of his senior career, Bajraktarevic looks like a big talent for the future.

He's already turned out 43 times for PSV, as well as 57 times for Major League Soccer (MLS) outfit New England prior to moving to the Dutch side.

Last season was arguably the best of his career to date too, scoring seven goals and providing four assists in 36 games for PSV.

So, whilst presenting as a raw and unrefined talent, he could've added that air of unpredictability and energy to a Rangers attack that desperately needs it.
