Rangers continue to face further scrutiny after pulling out of a deal to sign Couhaib Driouech from PSV.

It has been a turbulent summer at Ibrox that seems to be making way for some sort of stability.

Derek McInnes has now secured back-to-back wins against St Mirren and Jablonec.

That has taken away from the frustration in Govan that was beginning to spiral.

None of that was helped when a move for the Moroccan collapsed at the last second.

Driouech's move was called off by Rangers, in a decision that makes less and less sense by the day.

The Light Blues looked to be in desperate need of attacking reinforcements when a move for the winger was on the cards.

He appeared to be the perfect option after 17 goal involvements in all competitions last season.

Excitement filled Ibrox when he was spotted in the stands for the draw against Jagiellonia.

That was quickly dashed when a deal fell through less than 24 hours later, with reports suggesting that the Gers called it off due to fitness concerns.

They suggested that Driouech wouldn't be available for six weeks, but that is set to be proven wrong.

Dutch journalist Rik Elfrink reported on Friday that the Moroccan is with the PSV match squad ready to face Groningen on Sunday.

He has been in training this week and was "remarkably" able to do a large amount.

Fellow reporter Patrick van Weert suggested that the situation is "Bizarre or a really bad excuse from Rangers," which sums up everything in G51.

Why Rangers' antics are unacceptable

The Govan club would be well within their rights to cancel a deal to sign the forward.

With Youssef Chermiti's injury, the need for a striker became more of a priority compared to a winger.

Rather than just saying that, they've seemingly made up an excuse and placed the blame at Driouech's door.

That has already been said to have taken a toll on his mental health as he was left in limbo before having a big move pulled from beneath his feet.

Rangers haven't acted in a professional manner and should have just been honest from the start.

It's clear that Driouech isn't injured based on his availability at PSV, leaving the Light Blues with egg on their face.
