A figure in the region of £7m may seem excessive, but is actually part of a promise that emerged in various reports.

The Gers had looked set to sign Couhaib Driouech from PSV earlier in the week.

A fee of £7m had been agreed for the Moroccan as a move was waiting on a medical before being sealed.

Instead, a deal was called off and many were left questioning what would happen to those funds.
