Rangers want to sign Hull City's Ivor Pandur in a deal that could see Jack Butland go the opposite way.

Derek McInnes will have to assess his goalkeeping department this summer, but some of the work has already been done for him.

Liam Kelly signed a contract extension recently, which leaves Butland as the only other man that McInnes will have to make a decision on.

The Englishman received criticism last season for multiple poor moments in goal, with some Gers fans hoping for the club to sign a replacement this summer.

Butland's contract expires in just over 12 months time, though the Light Blues wouldn't keep him around on big wages if they were to try to upgrade him.

Rangers are interested in signing Pandur from Hull, and are keen to use Butland as part of the deal, but how do the two compare?

Ivor Pandur and Jack Butland compared; here's the stats

Pandur achieved Premier League promotion with Hull City last season, keeping 11 clean sheets in the league and another three in the play-offs.

However, the Tigers have already been linked with new shot-stoppers, which has put the 26-year-old's future in doubt.

Interestingly, Butland had a 75 per cent save percentage in the Scottish Premiership compared to Pandur's 69 per cent, but the former dropped to 45 per cent in the post-split fixtures.

The Rangers struggler kept an overall total of 12 clean sheets in 38 games, three fewer than Pandur managed in 48 matches, including the play-offs.

Pandur did make two errors that led to a goal, but Butland doubled this with four.

The Rangers keeper prevented 2.29 goals, while Pandur boasted an improved 3.74 tally in this key area.

Rangers appear to think the Hull City man is the superior goalkeeper of the two, as the Blues could be targeting the Tigers' off-field issues.

Hull City's PSR issue could intrigue Rangers

Hull want to sell Pandur for £10million, a fee Rangers can't afford, hence the decision to explore a swap deal involving Butland.

According to the BBC, the Tigers need to sell around £6m worth of players before the end of June to stay compliant with PSR rules, something which the Bears may have an eye on.

If they don't, they could face a six-point deduction in their first season back in the Premier League since the 2016-17 campaign.

It's said that Hull are confident that they can raise the funds in time, though with a matter of days left, Rangers could look to take advantage in the eleventh hour.
