Rangers are stuck in limbo amid reports connecting Danny Rohl with a move to RB Salzburg.

Just as things were starting to look promising ahead of the campaign, the news broke that Rohl was being considered for the Salzburg job.

Given the ties he has with Red Bull, after his spell with Leipzig, the German is said to be open to the idea of making the move, and in all honesty, it makes sense.

It gives him the platform to go on and earn the recognition to get a much bigger job than he ever would have working for Rangers, given the exposure that comes with working for the Red Bull franchise.

However, that will not be the thinking of anyone at Ibrox, as they remain unable to proceed with plans ahead of the next campaign as a result.

And even more prominently, Rangers' transfer plans are set to suffer.

How Danny Rohl uncertainty could hamper Rangers' summer plans

Quite frankly, who wants to join a club without any real indication as to who you will be playing for?

That is the conundrum now set to be faced by any of the Light Blues' summer transfer targets.

The Gers have been in this situation before, and with success in need of being delivered next campaign, they will not want anything to get in the way of their plans for the transfer window.

Rangers should take heart that they were able to get a deal wrapped up for Lawrence Shankland when he did, because in all honesty, that deal would almost certainly be in doubt had it come to fruition around this period of uncertainty.

Rangers know what to do amid Rohl rumours

Regardless of what Rohl wants, Rangers cannot allow this drama to carry through to the summer.

They need to have absolute certainty in who will be in charge at Ibrox next season in a matter of weeks at the very latest.

Should they fail to achieve that, then it will be fair to predict another long, strenuous campaign in the Scottish Premiership, which will do no one any favours at this point.
